And just like that, we are wrapping up our first year in Costa Rica. Tomorrow we leave for Houston. This will be the first time back for me and the girls. We are all very excited to catch up with family and friends.
It's been a year of learning, adjustments, and adventures. Learning spanish, how to navigate a new school as teachers and students, all the little things that go with getting to know a new place (where the nearest medical and dental help is, grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants, etc., how to navigate Tico living, and much more. Adjusting to the new seasons of dry and wet, tide schedules, tropical living, and finding our new community. And finally plenty of adventures: local and international to Nicaragua and Panama.
Thanks to all of our amazing family and friends back home that donated to the girls fundraising campaign for the La Paz scholarship program, they were the top fundraisers for THE ENTIRE SCHOOL! Y'all are seriously the best! We love you.

S competed at Nationals in the 4x200 free relay. Another San Jose trip. And this was her first time competing in an olympic sized swimming pool. Unfortunately, she caught a virus which kicked off two weeks of sickness in our home. She is finally recovering, while P is still suffering from high fevers. Hopefully one more night of solid sleep will have P ready to take a flight home.
In Costa Rica they celebrate graduations after Kinder, 6th, 9th and 12th grades. Although she was feeling crummy, P rallied and enjoyed her graduation ceremony.
