Concluding Post 1 of 4
Once we returned, we were quickly caught up in the preparation for our upcoming school year in the mist of the pandemic surging once again in Austin. Lots of anxiety and frustration with our options as teachers and child care. While we've had these photos uploaded for months, I'm now just getting around to posting some quick thoughts on the final days of our 2021 adventure before our 2022 adventure to Costa Rica begins.
After our time on San Juan Island with Tessa and Damien, we met up with some frisbee friends near Mt. Ranier NP for camping, hiking, and hanging for one of our final stops on the way home. Beautiful surroundings and beautiful people inside and out made for a great 3 night trip before heading to San Juan Island for our last stop north on the summer tour.
The woods around our campsite had that magical feel that can only the PNW can deliver. Big trees, streams, and glacial fed rivers, lots of green, and cool temps. The kids enjoyed exploring on their own, although it was a big nerve racking at times knowing there was a fast moving river nearby.

Another NP sign! Girls were sleeping in the back so we settled for Cara just popping her head out while we kept the car running.
